Finally actually got around to watching an anime again this week, Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing. A friend of mine pushed me to watch it, saying it would probably be something I'd enjoy. I had some doubts as I had never seen the original Last Exile anime, but she said it was a standalone story and ultimately I decided to trust her judgment
Glad I did. Very enjoyable series. Focuses on three main characters, all of them cute girls. Lots of deep, subtexty bonds between all three of them too. Also got some pretty exciting sequences, fairly solid visuals, a good supporting cast and a pretty awesome plot.
I got quite quickly though the first 20 of its 23 episodes, and from what I've seen I'd give it a recommend. I've had fun with it. Came as a good reminder that I need to start watching more anime again. _________________

Finished Fam and continued watching more anime. Think I'm finally starting to really get back into the swing of things with the stuff.
The same friend who told me to watch Fam pushed me to watch a newer series called Sword Art Online, about a virtual reality MMORPG. I was a little more skeptical here, as it didn't really seem so perfectly geared toward my tastes (and it isn't), but keeping with it, I still found a lot to enjoy. It's got some relatively good action, a believable core romance and more than a couple surprising twists along the way. The series isn't quite finished airing yet, but I'm intending to stick with it, as I've enjoyed what I've seen so far.
I also, in a one night marathon viewing, finally watched the anime I've most been wanting to see for a while now, Fate/Zero part 2. In the second part, it becomes even more clear that this is from the writer of Madoka Magica. It's really rather bleak, twisted and emotionally wrought. Also, looks as great as the first half. It was all around an excellent series, that really sets up the event of Stay Night wonderfully. _________________

Watching the anime I did made me want to watch even more. Rather than looking backwards at the moment though, I decided to dive head first into the current anime season. Started up three Fall 2012 anime series and plan on starting into another one.
First thing I checked out was Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!, the new KyoAni moe comedy show. Checked it out on a friend's recommendation, but I probably would have looked anyway given I'm a huge KyoAni fan. it's really good so far. It's more plot focused than some KyoAni shows; kind of reminds me of Haruhi there. Got more of a focus on outrageous comedy though. Probably one of KyoAni's sillier, funnier shows. It's really fun.
Also checked out Psycho-Pass, a new show written by Gen Urobuchi, the writer of Madoka and Fate/Zero. So far it's delivered on the dark, complicated psychological stuff of those shows while offering some interesting characters, stories and cool action. The female main character is bright, delightful and cute. There's also what appears to be a yuri pair in the show, though the characters there haven't seen much focus yet. Great stuff.
Finally looked at Ixion Saga DT, this time on the basis of art of one of its characters, Mariandale, who I kept seeing pop up on some image sites when looking at trap stuff. She's very cute and pretty fun in the show too. This is a rather silly show, focus is on comedy, much of which is rather immature in nature. it is intermittently rather funny though, and Marian and some of the other characters are fun and likable (the main character is kind of a whiner though), so it's still mostly enjoyable to watch.
Also downloaded and plan to watch Robotics;Notes, which is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Steins;Gate, based on a visual novel in the same line. As much as I adored that series, not gonna pass this one by either. Should watch soon. _________________
