|
|
Since I've actually started moving forward with my anime, I'm not afraid to look ahead. Spring season is coming up. Here is what we have coming up:
My thoughts on each show:
Koi-Ken: this just sounds like generic harem stuff. Meh. Doubt I'll give it a look.
Ozuma: not much jumps out for me with this one.
Uchuu Kyoudai: This is probably a fine, mature, intelligent show. I seriously doubt I'd get very far into it though.
Saint Seiya Omega: not a franchise I've ever paid much attention to or had any real interest in.
Shiba Inuko-san: sounds kind of one joke, and not sure it would have much too offer for me.
Zetman: Nothing here really calling out to me. Meh.
Beyblade Zero-G: not interested.
Ginga e Kickoff: sports anime are only worth a look when they're about girls and are kind of silly.
Rock Lee no Seishun Full Power Ninden: even when I was into Naruto, Rock Lee didn't really do much for me.
Gakkatsu: I've tried short form series in the past. They're usually not worth much in terms of substance. Will probably just skip.
Medaka Box: The plot blurb doesn't really stand out too much, but that picture kind of catches my eye? That girl in the center is the main character, I assume? She's really kind of hot...
Arashi no Yoru ni: er... no.
Sengoku Collection: Last time I tried an anime about cute genderswapped Sengoku era figures based on some game I never played, it was pretty good (though not great). I'm not sure how this one might compare to Sengoku Otome, but it's worth a look at least, I figure.
Shirokuma Cafe: Again, no to the cute animal shows.
Natsuiro Kiseki: Original anime about four school girls from Sunrise sounds good. The fact that they're using the members of an idol group for the voices makes me just a little wary for some reason though. I don't know. I'll still definitely give it a try.
Accel World: Sunrise's strength really has never been adaptations. Maybe if I hear more, I'll give it a look. The character designs don't look bad.
Upotte!: This could either be the next Strike Witches or a pale imitator with all the fanservice and fetishization but without all the heart and depth that makes that series amazing. I'm definitely going to find out which at least though.
Kuroko no Basket: See what I said about sports anime above.
Mysterious Girlfriend X: I like the character design of the girl. That is one odd premise though...
Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future: Haven't seen the previous one. Think I'll stick to Precure anyway.
Jewelpet Kira Deco!: See above.
BakuTech Bakugan: Another franchise I've never been interested.
Nadia Digital Remaster: I know it's a classic, but even remastered, I don't have a lot of real interest.
Cardfight Vanguard S2: didn't see season 1.
Thomas the Tank Engine: I really appreciate the chart maker's enthusiasm. I can't say I really share it though.
Phi Brain s2: didn't see season 1.
Tasogare Otome X Amnesia: It sounds just kind of familiar, like the kind of thing I've seen before. Eh, probably a pass unless I hear it's just amazing.
Saki Achiga-hen Episode of Side-A: never saw Saki.
Jormugand: I actually read the first few chapters of this in manga forms. I remember it being pretty awesome too. Definitely in for this.
Eureka Seven Astral Ocean: The original Eureka Seven was an anime I enjoyed, but probably never would have watched if left to my own devices. I pretty much only saw it because it was on TV and I was starved for anime. I did like it though. I may at least try the sequel. I don't know.
Tsuritama: The lack of female characters in the picture is a big red flag.
Sakamichi no Apollon: eh, nothing in this sounds particularly compelling to me.
Fate/Zero Part 2: I shouldn't have to even say anything...
Sankarea: Studio Deen sure loves their zombies, I suppose. Zombie girl this time, I suppose? I'll try and give it a look.
Hyouka: I love KyoAni. They've never disappointed me. Haruhi, Lucky Star, K-On!, Nichijou, Clannad... Aside from SHAFT there's no studio I follow so closely. That said, those character designs... and that description... they just seem so dull to me. I'll watch an episode because of KyoAni, but I really have my doubts.
Yurumates: That's a cute character design on the other hand. Sounds like it could be really fun and cute.
Acchi Kocki: Also looks kind of cute, but I don't know. Description makes me think the characters might be kind of archetypal and basic.
Kore wa Zombie Desuka? of the Dead: Fuck yeah. I wanted more of this. Glad to get it.
Shining Hearts Shiawase no Pan: I wouldn't have any interest in some adaptation of a video game i never played, but Production IG's involvement catches my eye. The art in that pic looks striking too. This might actually be worth a look.
Queen's Blade Rebellion: Now this is something to truly get excited about. Not only does the pic look sexy, but going by the description, it sounds like they might be taking this just a hair more serious this time. If this is really a Queen's Blade series with a stronger plot focus, I would just be in love. Even if it's just the same as other Queen's Blade series, I'll still love it though.
Kimi to Boku Part 2: Didn't see part 1.
AKB0048: While the idol group in Natsuiro Kiseki is a bit of a red flag, here it's much worse to me given the show is confirmed to be about idols. I seriously don't expect much.
Haiyore Nyaruko-san: So is this an actual anime this time, or just more five minute web based episode. if the former, i might actually be interested as it seems like a cute little thing.
Hiiro no Kakera: reverse harem shoujo isn't a genre that really agrees with me.
New Lupin TV Series: not a lot of interest, I'm afraid.
Train Hero: Not too interested in CGI animation.
And that's it. Again it's a sequel heavy season. Fate/Zero, Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? and Queen's Blade Rebellion are the ones that really compel me frome the sequel crowd. As for new stuff, aside from Jormugand there isn't much that looks like a sure bet, but I'm expecting to be surprised by at least a few things. _________________

I'll be checking out Medaka Box as well. Haven't read the manga, though I heard it's like a parody of fanfiction with the protagonist being an intended Mary-Sue parody, so it might be interesting.
Definitely watching Fate/Zero part 2. Gotta know how it ends.
Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka was pretty entertaining too, so yeah, I look forward to the next season.
I love Eureka Seven, so Astral Ocean is on the list too. _________________

I LOVE MEDAKA BOX!!
They troll on mangas so hard in the manga. "This isn't a Shounen comic, the hero doesn't always win" Not to mention Medaka is a REALLY hot exhibitionist and wears all kinds of spectaculus outfits. AND the premise isn't bad and the story arc are good.
ANyway, shows I'm interested in
Zetman- it seems interesting enough, we'll see
MEDAKA BOX-see above rant
Natsuiro Kiseki- its a show about cute girls, it gets two episodes to wow me.
ACCEL WORLD- I love this premise
mysterious girlfriend X- Reading the description grossed me out enough to wanna watch
Tasogare Otome X Amnesia- I enjoy shows about ghosts
Nadia digital remaster- I never saw the original, and I heard good things, so
JORMUNGAND-reminds me of Fullmetal panic! for some reason
EUREKA SEVEN ASTRAL OCEAN-I loved Eureka Seven, lets see this sequel
Sankrea- Zombie girl? O.K. I'll bite
Hyouka-Mystery? I'm in.
Shining hearts shiwase no pan-Mysterious stone being sought by pirates? I hope theres a busty one with an eyepatch!!
KORE WA ZOMBIE DESUKA? OF THE DEAD- Do I need to explain myself here?
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san- demons disguised as pies (repeat 665 times)
New Lupin TV series- I loved Lupin when it came out all those years ago, and when I saw Hidan no Aria and all this Sherlock Holmes/ Lupin subplot went rocketing around I began to wonder whatever happened to this show (I never saw the end)
Shows in all caps are shows that I'm REALLY EXCITED about others just seem intresting enough to peak at. _________________ A normal day for sheena. . .
