Is anyone familiar with these games?
Since I got my desktop, I've been playing the second one. It's by Lionhead Studios (although it was published by EA, eugh), and is an odd, yet pleasant mix of the real-time strategy, city building and god game genres.
You play as an unseen deity, called to a planet (presumably Earth) to aid its inhabitants in their time of need. Taking control of the Greek Empire, recently overthrown by the Aztecs, you help them regain dominance over the land, either through war or peaceful conversion. As the name implies, as the game progresses the way you go about things gives you a moral alignment, you are either "evil" or "good".
You're also given a choice of four creatures - a lion, a wolf, a cow or an ape (although the expansion gives you two more creatures, I believe they are a tiger and a tortoise) - who will help you do your bidding, protecting the city, gathering resources and such. One thing I found particularly interesting is how your creature changes based on your alignment. If you choose evil, their coat darkens, their eyes glint, they develop sharp fangs and claws, and will randomly eat and torment your villagers, and will destroy supplies. However, if you choose to be good, they become playful, golden-furred creatures who will entertain your villagers and motivate the town. The variety of things you can build in your city also impressed me, as did the choice of miracles you can perform later on in the game.
It's a game I enjoy lots, I'd recommend it to anyone who has a decent PC. |

That sounds awesome, and the fact it's made by Lionshead (who I believe did Fable?) makes me all the more interesting. I'll surely give it a go! _________________

You can probably torrent it, but feel free to borrow my copy, if you like, since you'd also need to download a serial code generator to get into it.
And yeah haha, Lionshead did Fable. I just had to Google it to check, and the actual main Lionshead Studios HQ is in Guildford. Right near the Faygo place. Guildford is pretty cool. |

Much preferred the original Black and White, even if you could only build huts, crechés, graveyards and workshops...
Black and White 2 didn't feel as much a God game as the original. Too much of a builder.
Also very buggy I found, prone to crashing at the most annoying moments and revealing that it hasn't autosaved in two hours. _________________ A stranger is just an enemy yet to be made.
