/not really sure if this is in the right place

Surely I can't be the only person here who likes musicals.
I've been into musicals since a very young age. My Mother started showing me silly little things like Cats and Guys and Dolls when I was rather young, and it kind of took off from there. Initially near-everything I liked was by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and although I still adore most of his work today - Cats and Phantom Of The Opera still hold a special place in my heart - I started exploring silly, cheesy things like Little Shop of Horrors and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, both of which I adore. In my early teen years, I branched out to more underground, "edgy" (see also: somewhat terrible) musicals, some of which I still like. For a long time my favourite musical has been Cabaret, I've seen a few film adaptions of it, but the the 1972 one made by Bob Fosse is my absolute favourite, Liza Minnelli in that film is my idol. I want to go see more live musicals.

So, do any of you guys have an interest in the performing arts? ;)

I like musicals (and too had been wondering exactly where to talk about that). I saw Hapsburg no Houken on television most recently. I quite liked that.

I've never really looked into any musicals outside of Western/European culture, oddly enough. That trailer you sent me looked fascinating though, the costumes were simply gorgeous. I am, however, slightly familiar with the Takarazuka Revue. Is there anything you would recommend in particular? I'd like to start looking into musicals from other cultures.

Hapsburg no Houken is the only Takarazuka Revue show I have seen so far, actually. I do recommend it though. It's about a Jewish man who hides his heritage and becomes involved with the Hapsburgs, falling in love with Maria Theresa.

Ah, that sounds interesting. I'll definitely look into it, if I can find a version online which has English subtitles. Thank you for informing me.

I largely enjoy musical films. I'm probably not the most knowledgeable person on the subject, but I think they're typically pretty fun.

Haven't seen many stage productions of musicals though. Mostly just films and one or two High-school/college level productions.

Huh, never would have put you down as the musical type, if I'm honest. Still, it's a very pleasant surprise to have more people to be able to discuss it with. I'm the same when it comes to mostly seeing films. A couple of my friends work with theatre troupes, so I've been to see their performances, but I want to go see a larger one at Her Majesty's Theatre. Me and my close friendship group have discussed going to see Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom Of The Opera some time, because it's a favourite of ours and we know a place that does discount tickets, but the plans haven't really taken off yet. :C I'll let you know how it is if we end up going, though.

Well, I'm not too extensively into them. Have only really seen so many. When I see them I usually enjoy it though. Guess you could say I have a sort of casual interest.
