Hmm... Let's see.

Valkyria Chronicles is my personal favorite.

I haven't had a chance yet to play it personally, but my sister had a lot of nice things to say about Eternal Sonata.

Final Fantasy XIII is indeed an excellent game.

I never finished it, but Resonance of Fate is kinda fun if you like something more complicated.

Then there's Disgaea 3 and 4, both for PS3. I haven't played 4 yet, but it's a real fun series in my opinion.

I don't think Valkyria Chronicles counts as an RPG like the thread is about, but it is a lovely game if you like war scenarios.

Oh, Neptune is really fun. Eternal Sonata is really good, but difficult to master.

It's always listed first as an RPG over here. A strategy RPG granted (and with elements of a third person shooter and what not), but its still within the greater label of RPG, I think

OK, looking it up on Wikipedia it is in the "simululation role-playing game" genre with the Fire Emblem series, Ogre Battle series, Disgaea series, and Super Robot Wars series. It always seemed like a third-person shooter to me though.

Eh, it never felt too much different then other games in that genre to me. The shooter parts are just a small component to me. The heart of the gameplay is in the strategy, the choosing which units to move and when and which enemy units to target. From that perspective it's really not too different.
