I refuse to watch these. My whole life I was the next best guy, like the guy the girl likes, but isn't her boyfriend. The best friend, but not boyfriend material. They all have one of theese so it saddens me to watch

True that is a typical character in most films of this genre so is the ex, the parents, the supportive girl friend, the best buddy, the rival, and now the gay friend is a popular character too.
