How many of you will be going to see this film either on opening day or in the days that follow and any predictions? I am a big fan of these movies though I feel that the third one kind of whent overboard with Jacks strangeness. Some parts were funny where as others... well not so much. As compared to the first two films that had me laughing my ass off. The trailers for this fourth film look pretty good and it seems rumors were true and that only Captain Jack and Barbosa return. I like that they brought a historical pirate into this latest film. Black Beard is imfamous and I look forward to seeing what becomes of him. I will try to go out Friday and see this film but if not friday I will definetly see it at a later date. Looking forward to it.

I'm not sure I'll see it at this point. I like the first one a lot, but the series has kind of been a let down since then, especially in the case of the third one.

The ending of the first film was such that I think it could have stood on its own with out a sequal. The second film was ok, ending was definetly a shocker and made the third movie a must see but yeah the third one kind of over killed a lot of things. The only part of the third movie that I realy enjoyed was Keith Richards as Jacks father. That was awsome. Black Beard is what has captured my interest in this new film.

I do see some potential in the new one. I'm just not sure I'm there for it in theaters. Maybe if it is very well received by critics. Other than that, I might just pass on it.

I never saw any of the films beyond The Curse of the Black Pearl, and I had recently been wondering how the other films were like.

I really liked Curse of the Black Pearl. I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable film.

The other two kind of fell short of that for me. I suppose they're okay movies in their own right really, and there are parts of both that I do like, they were just mild let downs after the first entry.

I'd actually recommend you do eventually check them out for yourself if you liked Curse of the Black Pearl.

It has been so long since I saw Curse of the Black Pearl that I hardly remember it now. I might need to see it again first.

With out question.

I saw all of the previous films in the theater so in my fandom I would like to carry on with this one. Now all I have to do is get a few friends together to come and see it with me.

It was not opening night like I had hoped but I did see the film as I had planed and I must say that it was not a bad film at all. It stayed true to the films that came before it and was an improvement upon the third film. Kieth Richards once more made an appearance as Jacks father and did a very good job. Barbossa showed up in a rather unlikely place and Black Beard the legendary scurge of the sea was used not quite as efectivly as I had hoped but good enough. They talked briefly of his legandary death and explained how he supposedly resurected him self. The Fountain of Youth when you see it is just so beautiful you could swear it was real. They dipicted mirmaids true to the old lore and I found that realy interesing and another highlight of the film. All in all I would say that it is worth the money and that if you get the chance you should see it.

Im planning on seeing sometime in the next few weeks, after exam season is over.
However, I will be seeing amoung a group of 20-ish people. Half dressed as ninja's, the other half pirates. Because seeing it normally would just be unorigional, and we settle pirates vs ninjas.

I did see the film last Thursday. It wasn't as good as the first three, but it kept me glued to the seat at least. What really struck me as odd is Blackbeard having a kid and more or less being less badass than folklore had made him to be. Nevertheless, seeing the mermaids as their incarnations foretold in folk tales was a good touch and Johnny Depp once again proved why he is Captain Jack Sparrow.

btw, who was that fat fuck in the beginning when Sparrow was captured?

Yes Black Beard was a little softer then he should have been but the idea of him haveing a child isnt that far fetched. Admitedly there was one part in the movie that made me cringe and that was Barbossas introduction into the film. That made me shake my head and just...I mean seriously? It was a little disturbing.

That was Mr Gibbs he was in the first three movies. He`s Jacks best friend.
