The epitome poster-boy of card games. Yu-Gi-Oh!

I’m probably the only person here who has a love for the franchise, unless someone else who is a fan wants to inform me. And if you've never been interested in the franchise, that's fine, but I wanted to post this anyway.

I decided to start this thread because I just watched the newest movie, Yu-Gi-Oh: Bonds Beyond Time. Not at theatres, unfortunately, but on the internet somewhere. The visual quality was kinda crappy, but the sound quality was good, so thanks to that I was able to hear what the characters were saying. The movie is pretty much the three main characters of the original series, the GX series, and the 5Ds series joining forces to stop a new villain who threatens to change the world and future.

So how does it fair up? Well if looking at it as just a movie, the story is incredible simple, and you likely won’t understand the characters or the game if you haven’t played the real life game or have seen any of the series. But it’s not meant for all movies goers. It’s meant for the fans. If you go watching this because you’re a fan, you’ll likely enjoy it. It has its funny moments, awesome moments, and seeing the three main characters together is a dream come true for any devout follower of the franchise.

I’ve been a fan ever since I got my first deck and saw the original series on television. Since then I’ve kept a long log of many different cards I came up with and profiles of characters I’ve created. One time I thought about writing my own original Yu-Gi-Oh fanfic, but the idea never came through because I got interested into other things.

So yeah, it’s Yu-Gi-Oh! It’s cheesy, it’s nonsensical, it’s over the top, and I love every moment of it!

I still enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh!, not that I still watch the anime often enough to know anything about Yusei, or his branch of the series.

I have a super Dinosaur assault type deck, it has flow issues, but when I hit stride I can summon a 20,000+ attack point monster.

All 3 heroes? Well I be completely out of the loop if I've seen pretty much all of Yugi Motoh's adventure, a good portion of GX, and maybe 10 episodes of 5D's?

Also Is hero 1 both Yugi and the Pharoh?

I actually did watch most of the first series. It was kind of stupid, but my sister liked it and it was at least watchable, so I watched it with her.

Cool. Yes, Yugi and the Pharaoh are in the movie.

I enjoy the stupidness the franchise can do. That just adds more charm to it, at least to me.

Thanks, Rab. I just wish I could've seen it in theaters.

I actually watched the first series to its entirety. It was pretty stupid, but that's what made my morning worthwhile because I get to hear them get all hammy with their speeches and what not.

I never had an actual attack-style deck, I had two decks that were mostly made of booster packs so I never really got into the card game because it was certain that I was going to lose a lot.

I never actually got the cards.

Considering how much I was into the Pokemon card game though, if Yu Gi Oh had hit a few years earlier, I'm sure I probably would have been into it.

My friend managed to "obtain" decks from various stores around where we lived.

I pulled apart and reconstructed 3 Dino Assualt GX Starter Decks to make mine.

When I go to the local card shop I'm often blown away by the "Pros" or any 5D deck in general. *sigh* why must the new always over power the old?

My Power Beat Down deck, Warrior deck, and Zombie deck somehow manage to win me most duels, even against the most insane of 5D decks. I practically present evidence that Synchro monsters and a bunch nonsensical combos revolving around certain sets don't guarantee victory.

Yeah, but like I said, my deck still has some flow issues. Luckily My Black Luster Soldier deck doesn't, it wins all the time.

Also said people at card shop throw out Solomns Judgement like it's candy.

I summon Tyranno Infinity Atk(14000), Solomn's Judgement,seven tools,Solomn's Judgement

Where the hell did all of them get that rare ass card? Did they join a club I wasn't invited to?

Whats a Pwer Beat Down Deck? Sounds cool.

I don't bother using Solemn Judgment. It's not worth paying half of your life points to stop one card. Besides, I have other cards that can do that without having to pay for a single point.

A power beat down deck is a deck based around using monsters with high attack points and just smashing your opponent in with brute force. Sometimes the best defense is a strong offense. I personally combine my beat down deck with strong monsters that can hurt as well as protect me, effect monsters that can devastate the enemy, and magic and trap cards that can clear away the field of enemy monsters and face down cards, as well as tipping combat in my favor.

Wow, that would go perfect with my Earthn Salve deck. Which uses Defence as Offence, with a plethora of healing cards.

As for my Dino Deck, It throws high attack point monsters out through Big Evolution Pill, and then I can take my fallen Dinos and make them life points by removing them from play. Then I can Summon Infinite Tyrano which is a 4 star monster whos effect is to make his atack = to the number of dino monsters I have removed from play.

I have 3 of him, Hydrogeddons for flow, 3 super conductor tyrannos, 3 ultimate tyrannos, and a bunch of other things i forget about.

Cool. When playing for fun, I can just add in the Egyptian God Cards for more power.
