I've seen some RPG's and adventures based on books. One thing you have to look out for is this: _DON'T_ expect the Players to act the same as their counterparts in the book. Steal the situation, kidnap the NPC villains, file the serial numbers off the plot... but don't expect it to go like the book did.
Never underestimate the creativity of your Players, and don't expect them to have the same sort of mindset as the characters in the book did. Often, the characters in the book will miss the obvious clues indicating the bad guy, just because of their experience and mindset going into the events.

That's good to keep in mind. It would be boring to be bound to only the book plot.

We should do that. I tried doing that once in a RP prior to Henry's Cavern, I got banned for the RP for being "out of character." Apparently all the people I was playing with were all "stop having fun guys and stick to the script" types.
