Liele ran through the streets, following the creature as much as she could. It caused her long black, plain dress to rip a the bottom hemline, caught on railing as she went by. Her socks stained with mud, shoes long gone, as it hit puddles. The rain pouring down on her from on high, staining her bandages wrapped around her eyes, disappearing under lengths of curled, dark brown hair. Two eyes glowed eerily to either side of her, completely apart from her body, floating in the air beside her. A few more, if seen by an onlooker, could be spotted in the streets from where she'd came, and the streets and forks in front of her.
This creature wasn't going to outrun her.
It needed that little incentive to run loose. To attack. To kill.
And Liele was very much happy to comply.

But it'd stopped, one of her eyes could see it, crouching in an Alleyway, ready to attack her once it got her into it's sights. She could see it's mane of bedraggled grey hairs surrounding a mouth with a jaw too big for the rest of it's face. Teeth jutted out from it, far up to be level with two dark charcoals for eyes. The nose was non-existent, but were far more apparent were it's bipedal arms protruding from shoulder blades. The one to it's left a huge, hulking muscular thing, whereas the one to it's right a dragging limp, skinny claw. It's skin didn't shine with drops of rain as it did absorb them into the dark greens and pale browns. It was grunting in rhythm, breathing to itself.

Liele drew near and watched as it reared itself up ready to attack her, she grinned. A wide, but gentle smile.

"Now now, sit little monster." She let the words come out softly, as if talking to a child, and as she did, four knives slipped from her sleeves, gently keeping place, but protruding out. Naturally, the monster didn't listen, it roared out and struck at the wall, brick dust gushing out of where it'd hit. It caused Liele to take a step back, her smile disappearing within seconds because as that creature charged out at her.

Each knife flew.
Each knife hit their mark.
Two in the limp arm.
One in the left leg.
One across the eyes.

She darted aside as the creature rushed by her, blinded and in pain. It screamed in rage and stormed out of the alleyways. Into an open street. One with houses. Lights.
People.

"Creatures are not monsters, people are." Liele reminded herself, watching it go and willing the knives back to her as she watched it tear into the street. "The world is better without us."

[Elora poised motionlessly on a rather cramped balcony above the carnage - something that would likely have annoyed the inhabitants of the house the small ledge jutted out of, had they not have been slaughtered weeks ago. The rain was relentless, and had long since soaked through the rags covering her slender form, but she dared not even shiver or attempt to brush the soggy blonde locks of hair from her pallor face.

The monsters attacked without purpose or strategy, it seemed, but the young woman had trained herself to flee above the city at even the softest growl. The extra arm jutting out of her ribcage - despite having contributed to her street-bound life in the first place - had proven useful in light of the recent attacks. She reluctantly tuned in again on the bloodbath happening below her, sure she was tucked away safe on her ledge.

The beasts hadn't wasted any time in delighting in their slaughter this particular night, the air ringing with a cacophany of inhuman battle cries. Elora watched the figures in morbid fascination as they flitted past the alleyway. Most were the familiar looming shapes, armed with tooth, claw and venom, but it seemed this time there were new creatures. They weren't bastardizations of existing, natural forms like the others. They were simply eyes, and didn't revel in battle like their hulking brethren. One stopped directly in front of the alleyway, twisting in its invisible socket as if it were surveying the area, and Elora clutched her blanket tighter around herself with her semi-formed extra limb, trying to stay lost in the shadows. After a few seconds, the beast passed. Under different circumstances, she would have let out a sigh of relief.

What happened next, however, did finally draw a sharp breath from Elora's lungs, one that had been waiting for its escape for months. A creature stumbled into the alleyway - into Elora's safe haven. And the creature was a young lady, much like Elora herself. Her dress was torn, and her breath was ripping out in rags. Still clutching onto her blanket for dear life, the young blonde peeked out of the shadows with wide, sunken eyes, before deciding it was safe and descending from the balcony, scaling the cracks in the wall like an insect.

The dress-clad woman didn't turn to look at her, which struck Elora as odd. Deciding that vocal communication was the next best thing, she took a few weary steps towards the older figure, tucking her spare arm inside her blanket as not to startle the poor lady, and muttered a rather sheepish greeting.
"Hello. A-Are you hurt?"]

Liele turned to the source of the voice with a snap, the two eyes near her head circling with her, staring down at the ragged girl from above Liele's head. A swift smile spread on her face.

"I assure you I'm perfectly fine darling," She said, tilting her head slightly, "However you seem far more, worse off than I."
The eyes moved closer to the new comer, circling her. Other eyes spread off to watch the street, the screams could be heard. Sirens rang out loud but it didn't bother her.

"You're wearing ragged clothing, speak quiet, it could be suspected on a first impression that your only sin would be that of Envy."
Her smile disappeared slowly. She made sure that each of her knives were in place. The eyes retracted back to both cheeks.

"And you're not panicking over the creature in the streets,"
She frowned after speaking the words quickly, "Why?"

[The discarnate eyes turning on her made Elora lurch backwards, barely able to surpress the fearful yelp that was rising in her throat. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that the lady in front of her had a piece of gauze bound around her face, obscuring her non-existent vision. It didn't take Elora long to make the connection. The grotesque orbs circling her incited unease in the pit of her stomach, so she reluctantly focused on the strange girl's speech.

"S-Sin?" The blonde stumbled over the word, her owl-like eyes widening even more than usual. Her excess digits twitched nervously beneath her makeshift shawl. Needless to say, she didn't have the best relationship with prayerful folk.
"Anyway," Elora cleared her throat, attempting to strengthen her naturally meek tone. "The creature... It isn't the first. As long as they stay out of my h-- I mean, the streets..."
She trailed off, silently cursing her slip-up. Fluent speech wasn't something the girl was naturally gifted with, and to say she was reluctant to admit her dwelling predicament to a near-complete stranger would be an underestimatement.

"You look like you can take care of yourself though, with those, uh, with your eyes and all, s-so I'll just let you be on your way."
Elora noted the knives in possession of the blind woman, only aiding her in her decision that the newcomer shouldn't be trusted. Besides, her arm was getting awful tired of being twisted oddly to fit under the blanket. She took a few weary steps forward, attempting to shuffle past the older lady.]

"That I can," She spoke quickly, her attention quickly turning back to the street.
Her other eyes were watching the creature split apart wood and metal alike as if it were paper. It caused her to smile, despite seeing vans pull up, officers clad in riot gear arming themselves. She spoke out her thoughts whilst her attention was elsewhere.
"Does it not bother you, despite being what seems to be a street urchin, that I have caused a creature to go out and kill people in the streets with no real remorse?"

She made no effort to stop the girl leaving, the question was just spoke out. Her true attention saw the bullets rage out, barking from guns. No rubber bullets, it was apparent, as blood spluttered out from the creatures chest. But it seemed to no avail. If anything the creature became more enraged, it's skin taking on a darker hue and it ran fast forward, smashing into vans and parting the people as if water.

"People will do their best to fight the monsters, yet fail to see their own monstrous ways, they prefer to take things down, shoot first ask questions later," She shuddered gently as she saw a van smack into the front porch of a home, "It's one of the reasons we shouldn't be here, even if we hadn't anything to fight against, we'd end up fighting each other."

[The blind girl's words made Elora freeze up as soon as she heard them - somewhat of a blessing, as a voluminous armoured truck skidded over her initially planned path, screeching to a clumsy halt nearby. She watched as a group of men clambered out, their flimsy helmets unlikely to protect them from the lumbering beast nearby.

Ripping her gaze away from the scene, Elora spun sharply on her heels, shooting the older woman a venomous glare.
"Street Urchin?" She whined, less confrontational than she had intended. "N-No, that's not important. You did this? Y-You? Wh-wh-why?"
Her grasp on vocal communication began to weaken, her voice crackling with confusion in places as she noted the lady muttering to herself, evidently so fixated on the carnage that she was seeing right through Elora. Inhaling deeply, the blonde tried to compose her thoughts, and tried again.
"Just who are you?"]

Liele's attention snapped to the new girl at her words.
"Which question would you prefer answered first? That I did this, Why I did this or Who am I?" Her face spread into a wide grimace. "Despite the first question being stupid, as I've just confirmed that, yes, I am the one who did this."
The grimace shrank into a smile.

"As for the Why," the eyes moved close to the new girl, inspecting her closely and taking notes of each part of her, "As I said, we as people are the true monsters, we need to be wiped out, only we as creatures create sin, create unnatural constructs to fuel our wants instead of our needs and end up fueling our egos more than anything else."

Liele leaned down towards the girl, her face inches away from her own.
"As for who I am," The smile spread out, teeth beginning to show, "I am just one of the people who will cleanse this world, I will assist in it's riddance of sin, even if I am to die, I will have done what I can."

She straightened back up.

"And who are you?"

[Elora surpressed a small shudder as the blind lady finally backed away from her, the auricomous girl's glare having been unwillingly changed to a more timorous expression. She gathered the fabric of her blanket up in her fist, trying to conceal her anxiety. The muscles in her surplus arm ached rather noticably now, and a part of her considered exercising them by punching this deranged woman right in her smug, sightless kisser.
'Freak.' Elora thought to herself, smiling faintly at the irony of that statement.

Of course, she'd have hated to have proved the religious nut right.
"My name is E-E-Elora." Her own name always sounded off when she said it, always hard to force out. She opened her mouth to speak again, but couldn't think of anything else to say. People never usually asked her who she was.

Behind her, the noises of battle drifted into the alleyway, louder than ever. Gunshots, sobbing, the harmonic sounds of tearing flesh and inhuman roars of delight. Elora didn't trust this screwball enough to turn her back on her, but it sounded like the combat was moving towards them.

She focused on the visionless fiend before her again, her wide, foggy eyes scanning the woman's features.
"You're w-wrong, you know. About people." She whispered meekly, flinching slightly in anticipation of being beaten.]

Liele smiled wide, her arms extending from her sides, palms up.
"Yet look around you child Elora, you seem yourself to be a victim of poverty, by the look of your rags, cast out by society, such things don't happen as often in the animal kingdom, yes there are exceptions made of the weak, but nothing more."
Liele turned on her heels, her blind face looking towards the sound of the carnage, one of the two eyes near her turning with her as the street churned out the noises of wreckage, screaming, panic.

"Please do tell me where I'm wrong about people, for I have yet to see it."

As she said those words, a final crash rang out, an explosion of sorts causing mortar to spread with brick dust. A body, the body of the creature, lying halfway through it. A glaze across it's eyes and no popping veins to indicate it's status. But the men still shouted loud, a few pouring into the alleyway, sighting the girls. A couple heading straight towards them, not with ferocity. Their guns were lowered, and Liele's knives slipped up her sleeve, just out of sight, her eyes hiding in her hair, or around the alley.

[Elora gritted her teeth in frustration, trying to think of an argument.
Bang. The noise elicited a small cry from the golden-haired girl, and she spun around on her heels involuntarily - just in time to briefly spy the creature lying lifeless before her view was obscured by a small group of men scrambling towards them, concerned expressions evident even beneath their visors.

The questions became flooding in almost too quickly for Elora to answer them. She reluctantly complied as the one of the men in their odd uniforms - tall and broad, possibly the leader of the squad - asked if she was hurt and prodded her, checking her for injuries, but she ripped herself away from his grasp when he attempted to remove the blanket concealing her deformation.

After her and the blind woman - who the officers had mistakenly referred to as Elora's "friend" on a few occasions - had been declared injury-free, the questions became less saccharine. The figure who she'd previously determined as the chief of this oddly-clad group approached the ashen street-dweller again, asking with false distress in his tone if she'd seen anything. She simply scoffed, making an effortless motion that vaguely resembled a head shake of "no". They were still trying to cover up the frequent attacks on the town. Whilst, granted, the citizens here weren't as superstitious as those in the backwards settlement of Elora's birth, the odd shapes seen prowling the streets some nights were a hot topic of discussion. Rarely a day went by when Elora would go without watching a lady of the richer persuasion - normally clad in exotic furs and reeking of expensive scents - pass the alleyways which the young blonde called "home" with one of her wealthy friends, talking in their flowery voices about how their pet persians were found mangled by strange beasts in the middle of the night.

Now completely distracted, Elora's gaze turned back to the officers outside the alleyway, who were working on hauling the creature into the back of their truck. She forced back a shiver as she eyed the beast. It looked fearsome, even when dead. The massive jaws, now slack and lifeless, revealed row after row of hungry, pin-like teeth. The beady eyes somehow incited more fear once glazed over, and the foul, tough skin - its hues paled to a dead, earthy, swamp-like colour - was like nothing she'd seen nor even read about before. As deranged as the visionless woman may have been, Elora had to credit her for merely managing to find these abominations.

A sharp jab in the ribs, presumably from the barrel of one of the officer's guns, snapped Elora out of her trance - and startled her enough to to drop her blanket. She scrabbled for it frantically, still attempting to hide her unnatural arm. Her attempts were quite evidently futile. She cursed under her breath, squeezing her eyes shut.]

Liele let the soldiers ask her the classical questions delivered to the witness on the sidelines. Naturally, she lied. Questions about her health were quick and to the point, a small display of her arms, the knives quite withdrawn up her sleeves, showed no injuries on her person.

Her eyes bee-lined towards the rooftops nearby, looking down towards the alleyways. She could see the soldiers loading up the creature, acting as if all was normal. But she could see the nervous shifts, the glances to fellow man. The attempts to reassure ones self that everything is nice and fine. But dear gods they knew it wasn't.

The soldier was questioning her on what she'd seen now. She smirked, pointing at her covered eyes. Coughs and apologies later and the attention was directed to the other girl with her. The poor girl seemed rather shaken by the whole ordeal.

It was then, that moment when Liele saw the blanket fall, an limb that was abominable was revealed on the part of the new girl. She could hear the girl curse, watch her scramble for it. See the soldiers' eyes grow. The little flicks to the guns safety and raised ever so slightly.

Liele's knives flew out of her sleeves into any open spot they could jam into the two soldiers near them. She then revealed two eyes that looked down at the girl.

"Run."
