I am having trouble deciding which games to buy for my computer. Here are what I am looking at:

Aquaria

Doctor Who: The Adventure Games

Doom: Resurrection of Evil (not "Doom: Repercussions of Evil", so don't try that joke)

F.E.A.R.

Limbo

Aquaria and F.E.A.R. cost about the same. Limbo and Doom: Resurrection of Evil are half the price of the earlier games. Doctor Who: The Adventure Games is a little more than Limbo and Doom: Resurrection of Evil. All are quite affordable, but buying all of them will be expensive.

I never heard of Aquaria, but it has a really cool and striking look to it that makes it kind of interesting to me.

I've heard some stuff about Limbo. Apparently it's really beautiful (as the trailer makes abundantly evident), and the gameplay is great, it's just really short and there isn't really that much replay value to it.

I don't really have much to say about the other ones.

"Doom: Repercussions of Evil" is awesome.

I think the replay value of Limbo is trying not to die at all.

Both are independent games that got a lot of attention. Aquaria is a little odd though for being the most expensive single game on the list. F.E.A.R. comes with multiple games and seems to be the best deal. Aquaria might be the worst deal out of all of those financially.

But apparently in Limbo, once you figure out where all the traps and pitfalls are and beat the game, there really isn't much reason to play the game again. And it has like only four or five hours of content. Or that's at least from what I heard. From what I'm seeing, it might be worth buying on the merit of the wonderful art and aesthetic alone.

It might be best to hold off on Aquaria then. Perhaps it's price will come down.

All right, I will wait on Aquaria. Maybe I should finish Ecco the Dolphin first.

It is inspired for Merfolk stories too. I also like the weird "New Age" themes.

Oh, wow... Ecco the Dolphin? That brings back some rather old memories...

I was wondering if you owned a Mega Drive at any point. I never did, so I had to get a computer release for Ecco. I played it at a neighbor's house long ago.

I use to have a Sega Genesis with Ecco the Dolphin once, but then my parents sold it in a garage sale without my permission. I was pissed...

Yeah. I know most people had one or the other, but I had both a SNES/Super Famicom and a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive growing up. I played the heck out of them both too. I'd be hard pressed to say which I have more fond memories with.

I got a Super Famicom...after all games were discontinued for it. Then I got a PlayStation as that system was no longer being continued.

I had both a PlayStation and a Nintendo 64 in the following generation.

Between those two, I can pick a clear winner in the PlayStation.

I still have my N64 right now. I also use to have a PlayStation but then sold it off when I got the PlayStation 2 and GameCube.
