When I write, I often listen to music to get into certain moods, especially when I have certain characters or groups in mind. Do you listen to anything when writing? Here are some themes I keep.

Aimu's group: "Seiren no Yobigoe"

Empire of Greater Inran: "The Dark And Endless Dalek Night"

Frantilly: "The Madman With a Box"

Jenseitswald and Schwartznebel Academy: "Cassandra's Waltz"

Kokoro: "Scaena Felix"

Magnolia: "Tooth and Claw"

Miraju: "Labarynth no Kage"

Muscle Cuties: "PreCure Sassou Doujou!"

Muscle Cuties Résurection: "PreCure, Beat Up!"

The Multiverse and All Its Beauty: "The Doctor's Theme Series Four"

Pedrolina: "The March of the Cybermen"

Qayqui: "Black Moon"

Rêveam: "Gradus Prohibitus"

Rireishi: "Dr. M2 no Thema: Makagaku"

Shizuoka Town: "School Days"

Ten Exquisite Sovereigns: "Wiseman no Thema"

World of Darkness: "Chinatown Theme"

World of Elegance: "This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home"

World of Humans: "Sagitta Luminis"

I will think of more later.

Good idea, Rab.

Here's the music I like to listen to or at least imagine in my stories.

Battle with the Syndicate: "Colliding Souls-Unlimited Codes Ver."

Raiten: "Se Reunit Au Demon"

Nightmare Raiten: "Monster Chase"

Aora: "Higurashi-Main Theme"

Shiron: "Penumbra-Epilogue Theme

Marina: "Mysterieux"

Greywoods: "Misa no Theme B"

Robin: "Cosmic Castaway"

Regan: "Stand Up, Count!"

Dimensional Crowns: "Schmetterling"

Malefactors: "Cursed Soldiers"

Terragators: "Steel Resistance"

Hmm. I always listen to music when I'm writing. I'm sure it must help me focus or something, since I keep doing it. The thing is, it's never anything particular I listen to. I just select an artist and album from my iPod without any real thought to it and just listen to that while I write. There's no connection between what I listen to and what I'm writing.

I sometimes notice when the music doesn't match up to what I'm writing at all, which is kind of funny. Like really silly, upbeat music during a quiet serious moment, or calm, serene music during a high energy fight scene. I always just let it play though. It kind of amuses me in a way.

Sometimes I try and match up what I'm listening to, but other times I don't. I tend to try and listen to instrumentals, as the lyrics can influence what I write sometimes and I prefer my writing to be pure, unsaturated and soulful.

Then again, I take writing far too seriously sometimes.

Better to take it seriously instead of not at all seriously.

This is very true.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of KITSUNE², an alias of Renard Queenston.

Whatchall Know About Nintendo

Yiff Yiff Yiff

Angry Video Game Nerd (Phil might like this one.)

14 Mile Wingspan

8-Bit. I love this guy. His other aliases are awesome, too.

Renard Vs Adraen - Terminal

Incidentally this guy did Rainbow Dash Likes Girls (Stay Gay Pony Girl) and GOT MY PONY SPAM FOR YOU

I do have an obsession with internet reviewers these days, but I actually have never watched the Angry Video Game Nerd for whatever reason.

Well, the song might help.

If not, here's Tung, The Icelandic Lesbian

This is pretty awesome writing music, in my opinion. Electronica, especially 8-bit, is goot at clearing the mind and putting you in a zone.

I'm not too into electronica personally. Most of it sounds kind of similar to me.

Which is why, though I like the title of this song, it's just kind of indistinct. Really only the ones with the ponies have stood out to me.

Then again, you are mostly about lyrics. I'm all about melody and instrumentation.

Still, it's sometimes shallow nature makes it ideal for writing. It tunes you out from distractions without being too influential.

Yeah. I don't really pay too much attention to the lyrics when I'm listening to music while writing. I still listen to lyrical music though. And I'm never really distracted by it. I don't know. It's kind of weird.
