So to break the Pony euphoria, but I thought it was time for something different.

So, summer in the US means big summer block movies come out. One of them was Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third and final movie of Michael Bay's adaptation of Hasbro's Transformers. And as a Transformers fan, I have to say, this was a pretty awesome way to end the series.

I'm not sure I can say much without any of you thinking I'm a lunatic, but I will try to best explain as possible.

So, all the Transformers are sentinent humanoid-like robots who lived on a metallic planet called Cybertron. The Transformers, like humans, fight amongst each other,
lleading to a civil war fought by two factions: the Autobots and the Decepticons. You can probably tell, but just to keep talking, Decepticons are bad, Autobots are good.

Onto the movie: in the final days of the Cybertronian Civil War, Sentinel Prime and his crew try to escape in a last-ditch attempt to escape Decepticon attack planes. Their ship crash lands on the Moon, killing everyone aboard but Sentinel, who goes into a self-enduced coma.

Fast forward to present day: with the Autobots under Optimius Prime, are working with the U.S. military to stop hostile powers from using technology shared by the Autobots. As it turns out- there's a good reason why: some of the humans actually side with Decepticons for whatever reason.

Long story short since my phone is acting up: Sentinel is a traitor and kills Ironhide, Optimus's second-in-command, takes out half of D.C., activates a Space Bridge which is used to transport hundreds of Decepticons to Earth as well as try to bring Cybertron to Earth's orbit to use humans as slave labor to rebuild Cybertron, Chicago goes to hell, bombed out remains are used as a fortress, lots of stuff get blown up and killed, ending in a climatic battle of Optimus vs. Megatron vs. Sentinel, guess who wins...

There was a lot of action, although the beginning was used to bring up the scene. I've seen the critics' reviews and I'm glad Michael Bay took their reviews and rammed it down their goddamned throats. Not only is it better than Revenge of the Fallen, it ends the franchise on bittersweet ending, not a happy go-lucky ending with rainbows and fireworks. Lots of things went boom, and the final battle was awesome, words cannot do justice.

So, if you want my recommendation, watch it. Even if you're not a Transformers fan, watch it anyway. DO IT!!!

Interesting. Knowing next to nothing about the franchise and having not seen the other two films, I'm still probably not going to go see it though.

The last part is blatant advertising. What can I say?

Still, it was a pretty good movie. We were sitting in a full house if thats any indication. As far as story-wise, it can always be improved, but they didn't half-ass the ending. It wasn't a disappointment.

I saw Dark of the Moon. It WAS a pretty good ending. I just wished Unicron appeared some where, I mean he WAS the moon in more than one Cartoon,

I was wondering about that. They said Unicron was going to be in this movie. I guess Bay decided against it since this was going to be his last Transformers movie.

I know, but I'm still kinda dissapointed. At least they had shockwave. Wasn't the ship actually Omega Prime though?

Ditto, although seeing Shockwave there lessened the blow. The ship was renamed the Ark at the last minute since it would not be able to turn into a Autobot war machine.

I see. They avoided killing off a character without the character even existing. Smooth.

Yeah, I was sort of dumbfounded at how many characters they forgot about. Leo Spitz, Skidz, Mudflap, the Arcee bikes...

The comic tie-ins said they're all dead; the original version was supposed to have Mudflap and Skids try to whoop Sentinel's ass, only to be turned into rust like Ironhide.

That would have been cool. I'm actually kinda glad this is the end. Could you imagine an adaptation of the Minicon series? Or the Energon Wars?

Oh well it was a good trilogy all things considered. I've heard a lot of stories about why Megan Fox wasn't in this one.

My favorite is she and Steven Spielberg have a fight about one of his movies so he calls up Michael Bay and goes "Cut that no talent Bitch" and he does.

What have you heard?

Oh god, if they got their hands on those, it would spell doom for the Transformers franchise.

Oh, the "Megan Fox got fired" vs. "Megan Fox quit" speculation. I heard she was fired because she flipped of Spielsburg and called Bay a no-talent hack who would be compared to Hitler (Hitler's name is a bad word these days, like Benedict Arnold). That pissed off both of them and she got the steel-toed boot from the movie.

Thats great. I wish she was there to finish the trilogy, getting a new lead actress at this point was weird, but wtvr.
