WHy is that?

You're shorting yourself of a lot of rather brilliant films.

I find myself laughing to hard at the effects or the video quality or something that distracts me from the overall effect of the film.

Not wanting to say that something was bad without really knowing it is something I want to avoid. Cheezy one liners or not.

A lot of older films are beautiful. And a lot are just exciting and intense as the newer stuff. Often more so.

Both of your views are overly simple and flawed. It is best to watch everything from all eras.

I'm sorry for being simple.

I do watch from other era's I just wait to get a friend's recommendation first.

I personally don't go out on a limb by myself, I like it when theres someone telling me its safe or waiting to catch me if I fall.

I do watch films from all eras.

I just can't watch literally "everything". I don't have the time. I only watch like a few movies each month after all.

And we are all in the boundaries of our personal taste.

I could never enjoy westerns. There's nothing at all wrong with them, I just find myself unentertained.

Yeah. Personal taste is definitely important.

There are some really good westerns out there though, dude. Maybe you just haven't seen the right ones.

Agreed.

Unforgiven is my personal favorite western.

I have a few but I think if you can get a real good experience with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly you can't NOT watch it again.

Great film. The westerns directed by Sergio Leone in general are worth watching.

Also while on westerns, the Coen Brother's version of True Grit was in a lot of ways the best film I saw last year.

Don't think I watched it. I might do that later.

Awesome movie.

In a lot of ways, the Coen Brothers are my favorite directors. Maybe even ahead of Tarantino. And they definitely didn't disappoint with this latest film.
