In "Majorland", Queen Aphrodite is about to have her songstress Hummy sing the "Melody of Happiness" for a big audience. Before this can happen, Mephisto, the evil king of "Minorland", appears and rewrites the melody to "the Melody of Unhappiness". His songstress, Seiren, arrives to sing it, but Aphrodite scatters the notes to no melody can be played. Mephisto sends "Trio the Minor", Basedru, Baritone, and Falsetto, as well as Seiren, to capture the notes. Hummy goes as well, with magic creatures called "Fairy Tones".

Hibiki Houjou and Kanade Minamino are students at Private Maria Academy, both year 2 of junior high and 14-years-old. They used to be best friends, but their relationship is now very troubled and they dislike each other. Hibiki is competitive at sports but poor at studying. Kanade is smart but poor at sports. Hummy must make these two perform in harmony as the Pretty Cures, Cure Melody and Cure Rhythm, to recover the notes and finish the Melody of Happiness.

Very cute and fun, just like the previous incarnations of Pretty Cure. I highly recommend it.

I'd give it a recommendation after the first episode myself.

It has very high production values, maximum levels of moe, a setup that's sure to create very high levels of yuri subtext, and some fairly strong characters and interactions form the looks of it.

It's not especially different from the other versions of Pretty Cure, but that's why we watch it.

But if you want an example of the adult-aimed material, watch the first episode of the super puni plush-style HeartCatch PreCure!, where Tsubomi Hanasaki shoves cute animals down her shirt, making it look like her breasts are huge. This sparked a meme of drawing her with huge breasts in H art.

It was definitely cute.

Heh. I see. That does sound amusing.

I take it there aren't many actual big breasted characters in PreCure.

Not really. I think even Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon had more big-breasted characters in it (especially in the manga).

I see. Well, it's not like it matters too much to me. I like flat chested girls too.

I like the amount of big breast and muscle art for Pretty Cure.

Not that I can remember in any Pretty Cure. It isn't that blatant in appealing to perverts.

Yeah. If you want blatant fanservice in your magical girl show, you might just want to stick to Nanoha.

This seems like it is more just a pure moe thing without the overt stuff.

Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon in the manga had some pants flashing for humor. And it appears the manga is going to be re-released in English. You might want to look into that, Taku-chan.

You're welcome, Taku-chan.

The original Pretty Cure is a bit odd in that the animation is very retro-looking, like it had been aired originally in the earlier 90's. The song "Danzen! Futari wa PreCure" is very retro as well.
