Were there any movies or television shows throughout your life that have come out as just strange, weird, or simply messed up on a bizarre level. Have you ended up hating or liking these movies/TV shows because of their wackiness, or were they so weird that you just don't what to make of it?

Weird shows...

For me, there was the Ren & Stimpy Show. It used to make me laugh when I was younger, but that was because I didn't understand any of their shit. As I got older though, all the stuff I thought was humorous now turned into something twisted and warped. In fact, by the time I figured out what the meaning of their crazy antics meant, I just stopped watching it because I was just tired of the bathroom humor and stupidity. I also learned that watching that show was unknowingly turning me into a racist.

Ren & Stimpy were very weird indeed.

Okay, I guess I can add in something I found weird. It was an old movie I just saw a few days ago and did a review of it. Rab, you knew this was coming.

Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure!

It starts soft, cute, and friendly at first, but once the actual adventure begins, everything just goes NUTS!

Oh, so that's where your dream came from. Never watched it, but the Wikipedia entry definitely tells of the weirdness and disturbing nature of this movie.

Oh shoot, forgot one more, but it's on the web: Salad Fingers. Toutaku showed it to SGA, Phil, and I once and I had a prior encounter when some assholes at middle school showed me the video. Very weird and disturbing indeed...

I've seen a lot of weird movies, but I'm having a hard time coming up with one just completely totally weird at the moment.

I guess I'll have to go with a movie that's been on my mind ever since I saw it a few weeks ago. Troll 2, which has not trolls in it and is instead about vegetarian goblins who turn people into plants by feeding them food so they can eat them. It's definitely not a normal film...

The thing about Troll 2 is that it's an unauthorized Italian sequel to an American movie that not many people saw in the first place. Troll is somewhat more popular now though since the protagonist is named Harry Potter, Jr.

I decided there is one movie I can talk about here: The Beyond. After watching that movie, I was left stunned and wondered what I had just seen. I had bought it thinking it was another straight forward zombie movie like director Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2, which I had previously seen and enjoyed very much. The Beyond had zombies, but it wasn't a zombie movie.

Heh. I saw the original Troll as well, as the DVD I rented had both films on it A lot of the stuff in it qualifies for this thread too, but the sequel (if you can call it that) is much more memorable and epic. It's truly an unforgettable film.
