The Secret of Kells is about Brendan, a young monk in Ireland working to illustrate manuscripts at his abbey. His uncle, Abbot Cellach, is more concerned about protecting the abbey from Viking attack though. Brother Aiden, a master illustrator, arrives, working on an illustrated Bible that is to be the treasure of the abbey. Brendan becomes interested in the project, and leaves the abbey unauthorized so he can gather rare ink to make the colors. He is almost killed by wolves on the first venture, but he is saved by the mysterious Aisling, a pale white-haired girl who seems to be a goddess of the forest. Brendan learns of something that may help him finish the illustrations with perfection, but he will have to face a powerful evil in the forest to claim it, and the Vikings march closer to the abbey...

I just watched this film and liked it very much. It also has a nice amount of fan art of Aisling on Pixiv.

I've heard this got an Academy Award nod for Best Animated Picture. Didn't really know much about it though. Sounds kind of interesting.

It is rather interesting. Interesting things are being done with animation all over the world now.

I liked how the animation style reminded me of Samurai Jack. Also now looking for Asiling H!
