So, I'm officially Persona 3 obsessed now. Love this game. I recommend it to anyone with a PSP or PS2. I may end up checking out other games in the series based on how this one is going.

The original game on the PSP makes you play as some dude. In the PSP version, you can play as this hot chick though:

In my game, she's named Erza Scarlet. Not entirely sure why.

Other hot girls exist:

Her name is Yukari. She has a really cute, kind of tsundere personality and fights with a bow.

This is Mitsuru. She is supersexyamazing. She has a rapier and is awesome.

This is Fuuka. She sucks at cooking and is all around moe. She's supports you in battle by analyzing enemies and stuff but doesn't actually fight herself.

There are apparently a couple other female party members, but I haven't met them yet. There are also some male characters: the amiable slacker best friend, the cool guy that all the girls love, some guy in a hat and a shota. There's also a dog. That's right, one of your parry members is an actual dog. That is unbelievably awesome in my opinion.

But a lot of the fun of Persona has nothing to do with the characters who assist you in battle, or indeed the battles (which are quite fun and addictive, unique turn based battles) at all. Persona 3 has one of the most awesome character interaction systems I've seen.

The game breaks down into two separate components. The first is where you fight stuff; this happens at nights whenever you chose (and on a few specified days within the story). Here you explore a labyrinth looking for treasures and monsters to fight and what not.

Elsewhere, you interact with various characters in a modern Japanese setting as a high school student. You can do stuff like work a part time job, go to the arcade, the movies, the cafe or any number of restaurants, or you can spend the time with one of the social links, special characters which have a link with certain varieties of Persona, the creatures from whom you get your powers. By spending time with these people and strengthening your bonds, you can create more powerful Persona. The interesting part is in the variety of the characters. Your party members (for the female character at least) are all social link characters, but in addition to them, you can go and hang out with a lonely little girl, an old couple, a corrupt businessman, a monk, and a number of interesting characters from your school, such as an effeminate German exchange student and the hot, overly-serious girl from the sports club you join:

Learning about the characters is a lot of fun. There's some great character development here, even in the NPCs. Interaction could be a little more involving; I'm reminded of Sakura Wars V, and how active interactions were in that. But that's a minor complaint. I can't really expect that sort of thing anyway.

The final interesting hottie is this girl:

She's Elizabeth. She has one of the most delightfully out there personalities I've seen in a while. She gives you missions to complete and helps you sort and fuse your persona. She also occasionally asks you to take her on dates.

One last pic:

Don't know the girl on the right yet, but the female playable characters in skimpy outfits. You can actually make them wear these in game...

Very good. I think playing games that involve an actual Japanese setting would help if you write with that setting too.

Wizard sama those clothes are known as battle panties, my second favorite outfit in the whole game. Mitsuru's reaction to them when you're male is very moe.

I personally have what the girl on the right calls my personal harem. I make them all wear santa outfits.

Also you don't get all the references of p3p if you haven't played p3 fes or persona 4. Like I really enjoyed seeing middle schooler yukiko because she was my favorite in persona 4.(I memeroized all of her good responses in only one playthrough)

I know. I have the battle panties. That's why I mentioned you can actually make them wear those.

I don't really have much interest playing in the male character.

Santa outfits? That's something to look forward to .

I might get 4. I don't know. Might wait to see if that too gets a PSP version... (I think they're currently working on two right now though, which is apparently 2 separate games for whatever reason).

Yeah. That's true.

I like listening to music from the original Persona when writing about Shizuoka Town.

The male and female mc's DO offer different stories. . . I like both pretty much equally and the main story doesn't change so it doesn't REALLY matter, but if you wanna get everything you can out of it I suggest a male playthrough or two.

Surprisingly I prefer the male playthrough (the jokes are funnier) at least once you get Aigis I beleive she says funnier things.

There's also the picking up girls on the beach where junpei gets so close to being trapped when the dialouge box changed from women to women(?) I laughed so hard my brother woke up.

Heh. Maybe I'll try it eventually. Don't see myself having too much enthusiasm for it though, even if I know the social links are different.

I'm not as much about getting everything I possibly can out of a game I get as much as I used to be. We'll see though. For now, I'm more than satisfied with my cute female main character.

I'm usually not that way but persona is different for me. I jumped right into nightmare mode before I realized theres no nightmare->nightmare newgame plus. I got so angry I almost cried. (I did however have to buy a new psp, being as my old one still has parts in the wall)

Despite that, I've currently replayed the male storyline 12 times and the female 9 or 10.

Thats nothing compared to persona 4 which I've maxed the playtime on. I didn't even know that was possible on a console game. Despite this I haven't even killed the secret secret final boss on hard mode and still discover new ways to do things to get my 100% capture rate. I guess I'm no Katsuragi

I can never seen me replaying a game that many times. Especially when I have a whole stack of other games on my desk (not to mention a story to write, anime to watch, and four classes I'm currently taking).

Didn't see this before. If the first game's soundtrack is anything like that in Persona 3, I can see why. it's quite unique and interestign for a game soundtrack.

Wizard-Sama you need to listen to persona 4's BGM for the video game world level. It's by far the most creative song on the entire sound track and at the same time the least.

Also, I'm poor, therefore no games. I'm only in the planing stages of my first serious work in about three years, and I only need an hour of sleep to function daily giving me 23 hours to do what I want.

I had normal Highschool classes and read manga in class, now that I've graduated I don't even have that slight inconveinence.

Strictly speaking I have limitless time to replay games and that time would be otherwise spent staring at a wall

I guess if you had no new games, that alone would excuse constantly replaying older ones.

I on the other hand, still have four or five titles on my desk I haven't played...

I need at least six hours of sleep too. I prefer eight.

I think I have heard of this game before...yes I read about it in a mag and I saw it on the shelf and considered buying it but like with so many other games I meant to buy others took priority. If I can find it again one day I may just pick it up.

Persona 4 yes that was it. Got really good reviews. I havent realy been playing games that often recently. Reading, writeing and internet time have really taken away from my playing time. That and I do have a lot of tv shows that I watch. However sad that may sound.

As an elite IB student you learn to function for days with no sleep without breaking down. My life was a hell of schoolwork and tests
