I found out about a new My Little Pony program, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, recently. I used to like My Little Pony toys and animation when I was very young, so I watched this version last night. It much more clever than the program I watched as a child, more like what I would imagine when playing with the toys. The animation is very cute too.

But something bothered me when I watched it. I realized it was the main character, Twilight Sparkle.

Very cute and pretty, just like what I wanted to play with! But something about her reminds me of something. I don't know what exactly, but she just looks...

Heh... I somehow don't see myself watching this. I think my sister loves the program though.

This has developed a bizarre Doctor Who-themed meme.

It started with this pony:

Whom people thought resembled the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, and he has an hourglass cutie mark, which denoted time.

So now any pony with an hourglass cutie mark gets named after a Doctor Who character by fans.

This is either the Fifth Doctor (blond), the Eleventh Doctor (bow tie), or the John Simm version of the Master (blond and smirking).

Heh. That's awesome.

The episode I just saw (episode 12) featured the Dr. Who Pony. The hourglass actually caught my eye.

I actually kind of have to wonder what an hourglass could mean on an ordinary, non-magical pony.

There is also a Pegasus pony that looks exactly the same, complete with the hourglass. Lauren Faust denied any intentional references though.

Just finished episode 13. Seen half of the first season. Think I'm going to take a break for now.
