Hello and welcome, dear friends! This is your host, weird newbie Tru-blu welcoming you to the volunteer thread for the soon-to-begin Negima! RP.

The following information is what has ben decided on so far:

- The RP will take place in the mangaverse.

- You have a hoice of TWO settings: EITHER an AU-style series of events in the style of the Kyoto Arc (volumes 4-6); OR a post-series continuation-style story where Negi joins forces with his father Nagi to fight Fate (as a person and a concept.

- The "School Trip" option will be more comedic, cheery, and with plenty of wacky adventures, while the "Time Travel" story will be a lot more action-orientated and serious (though, Negima being Negima, wackyiness will still turn up).

- The first option will likely be easier to understand if you have little-to-no knowledge of the series, while the second option has the charm of being more in-depth and thought-out.

- Whichever one is chosen, the characters among the group that would be expected to take part in events (on the heroes' side anyway), but that are not assigned to anyone before the start of the RP will have their absence explained in such a manner as will leave them open for later re-entry.

When you apply here, for want of a better word, you can vote for the plotline that you personally prefer to play in, and will be able to choose/reserve up to THREE characters within that storyline exclusively for you. First come first serve, but you can only reserve those three - depending on the number of volunteers for the RP, you can from that point forwards ask for characters beyond those three (if you think you can hangle any more), but be warned that if ANYONE new turns up and asks for any of the characters among the ones which you have chosen as additions, they WILL be reassigned to the new person.

Plot ideas are also welcome - see the 'RP ideas' thread for a rundown of what we've banged out so far.

As I said before having only seen the two TV anime series, I think I could only participate in the first idea. But I am currently debating the idea of reading the manga, so the other might be okay if I do so. Still, for the sake of making it user friendly, the simpler idea might be preferable even if I do so.

I seem to recall liking these three. But it's been a while, so I might change if I do read the manga and like others:
Mana Tatsumiya
Konoka Konoe
Ku Fei

Toutaku's idea is cool as well, but for newcomers (as most people here will be to Negima) it requires maybe a little too much background info - though if enough people go for the Time Travel idea, I'd be happy to put together a cheat sheet with the necessary data.

I actually started reading the manga. I've already read 30 chapters. but considering there are over 300, I still have a way to go.

There needs to be Konoka/Setsuna. It's a requirement.

Heh, I'd lend you the books if I could.

What puissed me off a lot about the anime, is that they actually decided what Haruna's artifect would be before Akamatsu had even published that book.

He says so himself in the authour's notes, that they made the decision without him.

Wahey, fast readers! The fanservice starts to drop off as the Magic World arc goes on, though the chapter that gets Setsuna and Asuna back, the fight with Rakan and the two girls from Fate's harem, and the LOLWUT bathhouse chapter make sure that Akamatsu's fanservice quotient (remember, this used to be a harem comedy manga) is fulfilled.
