So, apparently the Strike Witches universe is a lot more complicated than I figured with several light novels and manga entries and a character list that includes 101 names . But, I still wanted to do this, I'm just going to set this away from most entries in the series so as we can avoid most of that and do our own thing.

The RP will take place post Season 1 (1944) focus on the recently constructed Joint Fighter Wing Unit 509, comprised mostly of rookies. A joint unit organized on the fly to aid the Liberion army in stopping a sudden strong reemergence of Neuroi in the west, the 509 lacks experience but is full of a number of bright young witches.

As a basic refresher of setting, here are some details of the Strike Witches uniform:

So, yeah, essentially:
Fuso is Japan.
The United States of Liberion, is the USA
Britannia is Great Britain
Hispania is Spain
Gallia is France
Karlsland is Germany
Venezia is Northern Italy
Romagna is Southern Italy
Ostmark is Austria
The Orussia Empire is the Soviet Union
Baltland is Norway and Sweden
Suomus is Finland
And not on the map, but confirmed:
Faraway Land is Canada
Neue Karlsland is a part of South America.
And nothing else has really been named (continent names are the same though, it seems).

As you can tell from the map, certain of these have been heavily damaged. This is done by the Neuroi, a race of alien life forms with mysterious properties who invaded Earth in 1939 and promptly laid waste to a large portion of the world. They are powerful, but can be promptly destroyed if you can find their core.

A witch is a woman who has fused with an animal spirit (when she uses magic, she'll temporarily take on characteristics of this animal familiar, notably the ears) and has taken on the powers of magic. Magic manifests in many different ways in witches; by example, Gertrud uses it to augment physical strength, Yoshika uses it to heal, Perinne can use lightning attacks.

A Striker Unit is a magic powered device worn by witches, appearing as airplane engine like devices on their legs (modeled after WWII aircrafts). They make for ease of flight and also increase a Witch's abilities, notably giving her the ability to raise protective shields.

You can base your character after a WWII flying ace if you wish, but that's really not necessary if you don't know much about that stuff and don't want to do research.

I'll probably add more details and my own character(s) later.

Erica is super hot. I love so many of the characters, but she's definitely one of my favorites. Definitely my favorite of the Karlsland witches (even if Gertrud and Minna are sexy too)

In the second season, you get to see her twin sister, by the way...

No, there are censors to the broadcast version. Then again, I'm positive the first season was also censored until I saw the DVD version.

Isn't so much nudity in the first place that it should really bother you in my opinion.

There really aren't many new characters, unfortunately. The aforementioned Erica twin just pops up in one episode. Mostly it just focuses on the same girls as before.

Oh, that's not really too important. Was just on the character profiles I was basing the profile sheet off so, I kept it in for whatever reason.

The characters are part of a joint wing, fighting together and all, but they're all technically still part of different military organizations (as the different uniforms notes). For example, Mio is part of the Fuso Navy. Lynn is part of the Britannian Air Force. Erica and Gertrud are both Karlsland, but apparently Erica's designation is Karlsland Army and Gertrud's Karlsland Air Force.

Remember they're supposed to represent aerial units. I'm not sure the SS had any aerial stuff.
