Jynx frowned, and tilted her head.
"What the hell is 'wenching'?" She asked, afraid of the answer. "And as for my love life, well... Not that it's any of your business, but it's... fine. Thanks."
Jynx smiled at the pretty waitress as she set down the two drinks they had order.
"Thank you." She said, taking a sip.

"Yeah, thanks doll." Toutaku picked up his drink and sipped it thoughtfully. "Wenching is what you might describe as trying to have a love life. Usually failing" Frowning slightly, he set his glass down and sighed.

"Anyway, Jynx why are you friends with a loser like me?"

Absent-mindedly, toutaku placed his hand upon Jynx's thigh, just above the knee. "Not that I'm ungrateful. A guy like me needs a few good friends."

Jynx rolled her eyes at him and shifted her legs so that his hand slipped off her thigh and trailed down her leg.
"I ask myself the same question everytime I see you." She snapped, brushing a stray hair away from her face. "Why is it you wanted to drink with me? To get me intoxicated?"

"You belittle me. I admit I have a healthy attraction to you, but I consider you a friend first. Remember that."

A sombre smile etched onto Toutaku's face, he sighed once more and downed his liquor.

"Unfortunately I can no longer distinguish friend from foe when it comes to men." Jynx muttered, gazing down into her orange juice as a look of sadness decended upon her features, before being replaced by a look of anger.
"Anyway, where have you been lately? You haven't been seen around the village for months! I sent you letter after letter and I never got any reply! There was no note, no word of where you had gone, nothing! Just an empty house and some dirty dishes!"

"Sorry... I had a mission that made me remember a few things. I only wench because I figure no-one will love a guy like me. I spent a few weeks in transit, thinking. I've come to a desicion."

Looking Jynx straight in the eye, with none of the usual humour in his eyes, Toutaku swallowed and begun.

"I can't stay here, in Konoha. I have to leave, and discover myself. If it's any conselation," he added guiltily. "I'll miss you the most."

He turned from her, and wiped a moisture from his cheek. He prayed it was only sweat.

Jynx stared at her friend, bewildered.
"Your... leaving?" She whispered, her eyes open wide with surprise. "But.. Where will you go? What will you do?"

He sighed once more, the melancholy of the situation sinking in.

"I don't know. I may become a personal guard to an important businessman in the west. Regardless, I'm going to do something. Anything to escape this deadlock."

Jynx nodded, a lump welling up in her throat.
"I see... Well I wish you every luck on your journey." She quickly drained her orange juice and made to leave, not able to look Toutaku in the eyes.

"Why?!" Jynx span around, her eyes focused on his chest, rather than his face as she shook her head. "What does it matter? You've made up your mind. I'm hardly going to change it.."

"No, you can't change it... But.. You can come with me!!" He was shouting and he didn't care. He hugged the slender woman to him, and sobbed.

"I value your companionship. As a friend, as a comrade. And as a woman. I couldn't leave without you, but I can't stay here. What can I do!?"

"C-come with you? But where would we go? What would I do-I..." She stopped, eyes down to the ground as her mouth opened in surprise.
"Okay. I-I will."

"You will...?" mouth gaping like a fish, Toutaku broke down and hugged the girl fiercely. "Thank you, Jynx. Thanks."

Toutaku sat back down, and wiped his brow. "I figure we can go to Mizu for a while, rest in an inn and listen to the local hearsay."

"Sure, just let me know when you want me." She said, getting some money out of her bag for her juice.
