I just wanted to say how excited I am for the upcoming Bleach: Masked, a new fan book by Tite Kubo. A sample page in a Shounen Jump advert showed the Latin-spelling "Nnoitra Girga", so I look forward to other official spellings.

Oh, I look forward to that too, I suppose.

I rather like Bleach still, even if my enthusiasm isn't at the point it was at when I was writing fanfiction for it.

Tia Harribel is still undeniably sexy, as are many other characters.

My favorite arch was when they had to rescue Rukia in Soul Society. I just thought it was much cooler to be showing Soul Society as the bad guys, because after seeing how they operate I really don't feel anyone who doesn't roll with Ichigo are somewhat less than heroic.

Which reminds me, I'd love to do an story involving Rukia.

Last night I bought Bleach Official Character Book 2: Masked. It covers events from volumes 21 to 36. It contains a number of interesting new information, especially the official spellings.

At the very beginning, there is a fold-out picture of the captains and lieutenants from long before. It goes like this:

1st Division: Shigekuni Genryuusai Yamamoto/Choujirou Sasakibe
2nd Division: Yoruichi Shihouin/Marenoshin Oomaeda (Marechiyo Oomaeda's father)
3rd Division: Roujuurou Bashi/Chikane Iba (old woman who appears to nag Rose, Tetsuzaemon's mother)
4th: Retsu Unohana/Seinosuke Yamada
5th: Shinji Hirako/Sousuke Aizen
6th: Ginrei Kuchiki/Soujun Kuchiki (mellow Byakuya)
7th: Rabu Aikawa/Jin'emon Kotsubaki (scarred burly man with purple sunglasses and goatee)

Heh. Very interesting. A lot of fun information there.

The thing with the 10th division makes me think it's important; a plot point. My guess is that Isshin Kurosaki was captain there, but who knows.

To my displeasure, Menoly's surname, Mallia, is rendered into Japanese as マリア, which is how I write María in Japanese too.

Hmm, still might be the case. I seriously doubt Hitsugaya was nominated so long ago and there would have to be some reason Kubo doesn't want to show who was Captain before him just yet.

Yes, it is rather strange. Not even Rangiku was shown at the time, so Hitsugaya could not possibly have been around.
