Yeah, those things are rough. Not sharp per se, but you can still banged up if not looking.

Nudibranchs are those sea slugs, right? Don't they fire poison darts when threatened? Anyway, I doubt there's any left in La Jolla, development and pollution is really screwing what last kelp forests we have here.

Sea lions are kinda loud and aggressive anyway. It's not surprising you were scared when you were younger; first time I saw a sea lion at SeaWorld when I was 7, I thought it was gonna bite off my hand when I was trying to throw some fish to it.

I didn't bleed when I stepped on one, but the current was quite strong and it took a good few layers of skin off. Yuck.

Regarding nudibranchs, I'm not sure if they can shoot darts, but the ones that eat sponges and anemone stingers can store the poisons in their body, meaning that whatever tries to eat them gets stung and/or poisoned. They're pretty badass. Way more badass than sea lions.

Sea World is really cool. I like the Cirque De La Mer show.

Huh, so that's how they do that.

The Cirque De La Mer show's pretty cool, but I've only seen it once.
