Miyuki Hoshizora is new in town and loves picture books because they always have happy endings. On her first day of her new school, she turns a corner, hoping for something fateful to happen like in her books, when a hard cover flapping through the air appears and a cute creature, Candy, pops out. Miyuki is delighted, but Candy runs away, and Miyuki assumes she had imagined the strange episode.

At school, Miyuki makes a fool of herself by not knowing how to describe herself to the class, and the tomboyish and boisterous Akane Hino takes it upon herself to introduce Miyuki to the other girls in the class: strong Nao Midorikawa, elegant Reika Aoki, and ultra moe Yayoi Kise.

After a strange adventure in the school library involving books that teleport her, Miyuki finds herself outside a book store called Book Zoo, and she finds Candy again. Then a werewolf named Wolfrun appears, and makes everyone cry in despair because Wolfrun wants to create bad endings for everyone and revive his master Pierrot. Wolfrun says he will eat Candy, but Miyuki defends the curious creature, and Candy tells Miyuki she is a Precure. Miyuki transforms into the beautiful Cure Happy, but she has no idea how to do anything. Wolfrun attacks them with an "Akanbee", a clownish monster. Happy runs away, not knowing how to fight, but she finds she has super strength, effortlessly jumping high in the air and knocking the Akanbee to the street. When Candy tells Happy to kill the Akanbee with her death blow "Precure Happy Shower", Happy can't because she doesn't believe enough. It takes a time for her to be able to use it, and Happy eventually wins. Her prize is a "Cure Decor", which apparently was corrupted by Wolfrun and Happy has purified it. Happy is unhappy, feeling like she had been tricked into her role, but she is glad at least people are safe again. Candy tells Miyuki that all will be explained as long as Miyuki finds more Cure Decors and helps Candy's homeland.

I am very excited for this. I love the fairytale theme, and the Precures are very cute. Miyuki as herself might be my least favorite Precure lead, looking rather uninteresting compared to past leads, but her Precure form is great, and she really reminds me of my Kokoro Asagiri. The other girls are cuter and more dynamic, and I look forward to seeing more of them. The return of the Yes! Pretty Cure 5 formula is welcome. Candy is the standard Precure cute animal mascot, resembling the designs from earlier Precure shows but with a Hummy-kind of personality. Wolfrun is much more menacing and threatening than any of the Minorland villains as they initially seemed. I always consider a new Precure worth watching, so I suggest this to all.

Cool. Sounds really cute. I'll definitely try it out whenever I get around to finishing Suite Precure.

Well it certainly helps make the shows interesting. Or at least has Suite.

It's present in all of them, knowing that people had liked to pair characters in earlier programs where the girls love was accidental (usually).

Watching more, I think that Miyuki is going to be more fun than I thought she would. It isn't often a complete lunatic is made the main protagonist of a magical girl team. Really, this girl comes off as insane sometimes.
