It's Slugbox's take on johnjoseco's Princess Maid Celestia concept, produced as a part of some sort of art trade between the two

Yeah. His stuff is usually more focused on the front.

Even in that pony pinup book I bought from him, you don't see any real rear shots. Most ass you see is on Lyra, who is sitting down with her legs up and kind of spread.

I guess in that pic, he was just trying to pay tribute to the artist he was trading with.
