I do love a good game. It'd be stereotypical for me to say Ronnie O'Sullivan is my favourite player, but I have nothing but respect for his level of skill.

Never really heard much about snooker...
I've played pool before which looks to be essentially the same idea. I'm not really any good at it though.
This guy really is good. _________________

Snooker's a bit different in that the table is a lot larger, and the balls are given points.
Red is one, yellow is two, green is three, brown is four, blue is five, pink is six, and black is seven.
You have to pot a red, then a colour, and so on. When a colour is potted, you take it back out and put it where it was. It isn't about who finishes first, it's rather about point scoring.
Ronnie O'Sullivan was world champion for nearly a decade, I think... _________________

I see. That does sound interesting (more interesting than pool actually). I wonder why I know so little about it compared to other cue sports. it must be one of those things that just is never played in America. _________________

Yeah. Sorry to say this, but the US seems to create their own version of our sports and practically ignore the original.
Rounders. That's the sport that was adapted to become Baseball.
Netball - Basketball
Snooker - Pool
Rugby - American Football
Cricket seems to have been ignored...
Anyway, Snooker's a fantastic game. Youtube some videos? _________________

Yeah. Kind of seems that way. I don't think there's anything wrong with that though.
I watched the video you posted before. Looks pretty interesting. _________________

There's nothing wrong with it, no, but I'd like some recognition for it. XD
Hurling is another amazing sport. It's basically Lacrosse, but with full contact, heavy wooden hockey sticks, massive burly Irish players and a lot of injuries. _________________

Well, in most of those cases the rules for the games have been altered quite significantly to where they're clearly their own thing.
Heh. Don't think I've seen that before. _________________

Yeah, that's true.
Most Englishmen have no idea how to play Cricket. Let alone people who haven't had it in their culture for hundreds of years.
Yeah, Hurling's pretty lethal. Minimal protection, too. _________________

Heh. That's great...
I see. I kind of think more protection is better when it comes to professional sports. I mean, I'm not so sadistic as to actually delight in seeing people get injured really. _________________

If you tell a Rugby or Hurling player to wear more protection, they'd probably get offended. xD

That looks like fun (referring to snooker). I'll probably be better at it than pool.
But hurling also sounds fun. Problem is I'll probably die before the first game concludes due to getting pelted in the face with a giant wooden stick or clotheslined then inadvertently trampled. But hey, if its fun and violent, I approve. _________________

That's just kind of silly to me for some reason. I mean it's not practical. _________________

I've played rounders, and I gotta say, I enjoy baseball better.
In rounders players can get "Soaked" which is a game term for being pegged with a baseball.
Unfortunately the only time I've ever played this game I got soaked. The ball hit the back of my head, knocking me out for 3 days.
Of course this could be a different game I'm thinking of, not being so familiar with English sports (despite being more than half Irish).
Oh wait, I think I played rugby once too. That whole day is a blur though. All I know is that I played SOMETHING got tackled by 3 or 4 people and woke up in the hospital. I can only assume that was rugby.
btw those were the only 2 times in my life I've ever set foot in the hospital. This american just isn't built to play foreign sports I guess. _________________ A normal day for sheena. . .

Most Rugby players I know are fucking massive, and know exactly how to use the weight...
Phil, I know it seems silly, but it's just our way. We never get very many injuries. _________________
