Yes, by accident. I notice in American and British comedy I often hear jokes involving rape. It can be difficult to avoid that.

For some rape victims outside of Japan, just hearing that H games about rape exist send them into a rage.

Yeah. Rape being used for comedic effect is a pretty common thing it seems (as this rather lengthy TV Tropes article makes clear).

And yeah I sort of get that. I think they likely don't understand how H-games work. That it's more like reading a written work in most cases than it is like a standard interactive video game (the visual novel concept as a whole is not very well known to most non-Japanese audiences). If it was a video game where you directly controlled a character and the purpose of the game was to go around graphically raping people (and you actually had control of the act), that might not set right with even me. I think some people might react so strongly because that's what they picture when they hear about "rape games".

I suppose that is true. I sometimes forget that visual novels are not well known outside of East Asia.

Yeah.

Though I'm sure some people with sensitivities to rape and stuff probably wouldn't be happy even if they understood the visual novel thing.

Hmmm...

I have "raped" my ex girlfriend, because she liked that kind of thing.

I suppose like anything, it's about context.

My Immortal?

Wasn't that popular for how bad it was or something? I could be thinking of something else though.

I heared enough about it from a friend of mine. What he told me probebly rotted at least half of my brain cells. I have no desire to actualy read it and eliminate whatever gray matter I have left.

If I wanted to laugh at something horrible I'll listen to the voice records of my Abridged Series. We are all horrible at voice acting, but the jokes are amazing.

Like at the begining when Touma walks onto his balcony and sees Index there he exclaims "What, I thought I told the Yakuza to stop leaving those here!"

It used to be "Thats not my spare futon" which I thought was more Toumaish but all the black people on my team told me this would be funnier.

I'm glad I conceded they were totally right.

Laughing at horrible things is good for your health it's scientifically proven to relievem stress.
