Cybele wasn't the beginning of it all, if I remember correctly, but I think she's weird enough to write about. (I don't feel death glares burning into the back of my skull when I call her weird any more. I think she's accepted it.)

I haven't read through this thread in its entirety, but I'd probably be correct to assume that Toutaku has explained the basic idea of guardians usually taking a form, to make you feel comfortable, a form that at least partially resembled what they were during their time among the living. Normally, that form is constant. In some instances - like Cybele - it is not.

Cybele is the guardian that governs the "love" aspect of my life. Which makes sense, because she is a confusing cow. To start off, let me explain that Cybele isn't actually female - it just makes more sense in my mind if I refer to her as a "she", for reasons more or less unknown to myself. She prides herself in her displays of useless "powers" now and again - one of these "powers" being that she can change her physical appearance, right down to gender, based on her mood (the others are completely useless, like raising or lowering the temperature of a room by exactly 2.5 degrees at will). I've noticed some trends, which I'll explain now.

In normal instances, Cybele appears as a pallor, older teen boy or young man (actually debatable, since she doesn't walk around naked, but DOES tend to, ahem, display some male arousal features now and again to make me uncomfortable). She's not much taller than myself - around 5'4" at most I'd say, of a slender build, with an eye colour that can only be described as pearlescent. It changes depending on the angle it is viewed from, but normally varies between a pale yellow to a pale pink. She also normally dons a black (or sometimes white) baggy shirt with a seemingly random word ("NO" and "YES" are the current favourites), with loose, usually patterned pyjama-bottom type things. These are the only constant physical attributes she shows.

It's unknown why she is so changeable, but it probably has something to do with her personality. She can get bored of things very quickly, and doesn't seem to have a real motivation or reasoning behind anything she does. It's like there's no filter between her mind and her mouth, and it makes coherent conversation with her very difficult. She doesn't seem overly useful, unlike my other guardians, and more or less just flits in and out of my life when she sees fit, performing pointless tasks such as playing a large horn or unnerving my other guardians before just disappearing again.

Unlike most of the other guardians I've met, I'm unsure Cybele was human at any point in the AD timeline. I've talked to another one of my guardians - Obadiah - about her origins, but it's too troublesome to really attempt to explain here, and doesn't actually explain why she decided to choose me to pester, as opposed to one of the other people she'd encountered before her "death". I could go on for hours about Cybele, I really could.

Her name is Tierra, pretty sure she governs hope. I could write so much more about her since we've been communicating frequently, not sure if anyone would be interested, though.

I guess to start off, I should mention the discovery of Tristan, who governs my strength, I believe. I didn't know much about him before Tierra's appearance besides physical traits, personality, a little background information and the fact he likes Kasabian. I later found out this might have been because he spent most of his time post-discovery in what was essentially another dimension, trying to replicate the effects of getting high by going to a place where merely existing is a very abstract thing and apparently feels like "dropping acid tabs, except you don't have to worry about your face melting because your face is already melting". But that's another story entirely.

Tierra is a close friend of Tristan's - in life, they were basically inseperable. They were both born and grew up in Oakland, CA, in the 60s, and from what I can tell died no more than a couple of years before my birth in '95. Tierra appears as a coffee-skinned woman with brown eyes and dark, wavy hair. She has kind of a hippie-ish dress sense, and normally likes to wear tank tops, cargo pants and ties little bits of patterned fabric around her head. Normally she wears a lot of jewellery, and is one of the few of my guardians who actually changes her clothes, a habit from her living days. One consistant thing about her though is the rosary she carries - her and Tristan were - are - both Christians, although I'm not sure how seriously they took it. They believe the state of existence they are in now is a purgatory, and that they can "redeem" themselves by taking care of me.

I don't know Tierra's standing on it, but Tristan is trying to prove to himself that he can be a good person, more than to some greater power. You see, they pretty much spent most of their lives rolling around the West Coast, doing drugs, drinking and participating in orgies. I really wish I was joking about that last one. Eventually they tried to go clean, and settled down in Seattle. One day in the early 90s, however, when jacked up on something, they went on a road trip and died in a huge pile-up.

That's all there is to their lives, really. They were both incredibly average people. I have no idea if there's any significance behind me, or if they just chose a random person to watch over. Either way, they don't seem to have really been jarred by the fact they died like some of the others are. Tristan likes to joke about being an angel, but they still harbor odd mannerisms - like Tierra's clothes changes, and the fact Tristan still enjoys music and tries to replicate the feeling of doing drugs - that sets them apart, I suppose.

I've been feeling more aware recently, and more powerful.

Alastor and Andromeda are becoming more apparent, and I tend to switch between the two mindsets at seemingly random intervals.

My head has been in a daze for the past while from lack of food.

I hear a voice, but right now it doesn't FEEL like a gaurdian voice just a "son you bettah do sumptin fast o you fonna die" voice.

The only thing my gut tells me at the end of the month is "feed me" (I get food stamps on the 3rd)

I was amused to begin reading some Christian book about avoiding Satanic influence, and the first thing that comes up described Toutaku's angels almost exactly! Apparently it is evil to ask an angel his name now...
