Not always. These are demographics, so all it means is the age and gender the series is targeting.

The seinen demographic has perhaps the greatest variety of titles: Black Lagoon, K-On!, Oreimo, Hellsing, Madoka Magica, Ghost in the Shell, Clannad, Sasameki Koto and most hentai are all seinen.

Not all of those are ecchi. In fact, some of the most ecchi titles (like Highschool of the Dead and Seikon no Qwaser) are in shounen magazines rather than seinen.

Ah, I see. It's just a LOT of the Ecchi I have seen comes under Seinen.

Maybe that is the type that gets the most attention in the West, although xxxHolic is popular too.

Ecchi seems to be fairly well split between shounen and seinen.

I actually kind of always felt shounen ecchi was more popular though.

Those are probably shounen then. Seinen can often be a lot slower or milder as the guys it's aimed at are older and thus usually have more patience.

I read the mangas of these as well but not mentioned is the manga only 'Vampire Doll'. I've grouped things together i.e. naruto encompasses shippuden.
