The Big O Official Guide would have sold better in English than Japanese. Hardly any Japanese watched that series.

Wasn't the second season even funded by an American company?

Yes, Cartoon Network itself. It made it one of the first then-contemporary anime to air on Cartoon Network Japan (which is almost all-non-Japanese programming).

It was apparently intended for American viewers, with Sunrise taking visuals remembered from when they had animated episodes of Batman: The Animated Series.

It did have a somewhat western feel to it, if I recall.

It worked too.

Batman the Animated Series was my favorite cartoon as a child. Kinda funny that what is probably my favorite anime studio was involved in it.

Some episodes at least.

Manga guide books do seem to be translated in English now, interestingly enough.

Yeah. I guess I have seen some translated guide books, but usually it's for really major series, not for just anything.

U all already know mine but I'll post them again anyway. When it comes to my anime I have many that I love but favorite would have to be Gankutsuo The Count of Monte Cristo, followed by X and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.

Manga hands down RG VEDA is my favorite followed closely by God Child.

I think one of my favorite animes of all time is kurokami, if only for the sadistic pleasure of watching a little girl get hit by a delivery truck, and the flashbacks o it every episode. Theres also Oreimo.

Mangawise theres Hajime No Ippo, Airgear, and something Karate based that has a really long Japanese name I can never remember. I call it Minoru
