Empty forum is empty, so I thought to add more topics and make it look a little more full. I've already talked extensively of my anime interests at Henry's Cavern, but I suppose starting some of the same basic topics isn't too redundant as it's supposed to be a completely new forum.

So yeah, let's start with the question inevitably asked at any anime forum. What anime and manga are your favorites?

Personally, my tastes follow as such:

Favorite Anime:
Code Geass
Lucky Star
K-On!
Black Lagoon
Mai-HiME
Strike Witches
Cowboy Bebop
Noir

Favorite Manga:
Claymore
Gunslinger Girl
Kurohime
Hellsing

Haven't read much of any manga in a while now though.

Nice picks.

Favorite H? Good idea.

For me, it's Shoujo Sect. Only H-Anime I still have downloaded on my computer.

Favorite Anime:
Code Geass (by far, my #1 favorite, I don't think anything can beat this in my mind)
Angel Beats!
Ghost in A Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Dragonball Z (don't know if that counts though)
Zoids

Favorite Manga:
Death Note (liked the manga better than anime, especially the ending)
Strawberry Panic (now why the hell would I read this, much less put as my favorite?)

Favorite H:
Shoujo Sect (by far, one of my top faves in general of all 3 categories)

Why wouldn't Dragon Ball Z count?

I was impressed with Angel Beats! too, but not quite enough to put it on my absolute favorites list.

I wasn't sure if it did, that's all.

That's because you replaced it with Lucky Star!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and K-On!

Well it certainly does. Just because it's the most widespread anime over her besides maybe Pokemon doesn't mean it's not anime.

I actually don't place Angel Beats in the same group as Lucky Star and K-On!. It's not a moe anime. Haruhi only vaguely fits in the same categories as those two as it is anyway (it's a lot more paced and atmospheric and a lot less all cuteness all the time) and is usually only put in the same group as those two because the same company made all three. Haruhi is very comparable to Angel Beats!, but you might not have noticed but the former actually didn't make the list. I'd actually probably put the two series on about the same level.

True.

It's not supposed to be moe, it's supposed to be action and kickass!

Yes, but Yui and Kanade are clearly moe characters.

Shiina and Yuri have their moments as well.

Okay, that I'll admit.

Yui is super moe. She's all about being the cute, lovable idiot but really she just wants love. Everything there is pure moe.

Tsundere, is often considered moe anyway.

More like super annoying, but I guess that's what being moe is all about.
