I'm the same. As a musical, it was horrible. As a movie in general, it was rather cliched. But again, there's just something about it that actually makes it one of the few pieces of cinema I can genuinely enjoy months after initially watching it. o.o

Yeah, I totally get that too. Then again I generally enjoy terrible things, e.g. The Room, The Baby Is You etc.

The characters were obviously well thought out, but the actors only really portrayed them to an extent that still left some things open for interpretation (don't know if down to shitty acting or if it was an intentional thing), which means I can rape it lots with headcanon at least until they make a sequel. Which I guess is one of the reasons I like it so much.
