I'm passing my time with Empire: Total War and Fallout 3. Both are very addictive to the point where I lose sleep.

I just completely finished Final Fantasy XIII a couple days ago. Just started up Resonance of Fate, which will hopefully carry me the next twenty days until my much anticipated copy of BlazBlue:Continuum Shift arrives.

A friend recommended Blazblue to me, but didn't really explain what kind of game it was. I'm just assumed it's an RPG?

(Not to get off topic but I not only laugh every time I read your username, but I just got into Dance in the Vampire Bund. Very cool but also cute and laugh out loud funny.) Very Happy

It's actually a traditional 2D fighting game. A very awesome traditional 2D fighting game.

And that's nice, but my signature/avatar are actually from BlazBlue, not Dance in the Vampire Bund (though both are awesome).

Heh. I don't see how you could possibly make that mistake. I mean, it's not like there's any sort of resemblance between Rachel Alucard:

and Mina Tepes:

(aside from them being near identical).

Very polished, beautiful, high definition 2D. I'd definitely recommend it. If you're considering getting it, I'd wait and pick up the sequel which comes out later this month though, instead of the first game. You'll miss out on some of the story that way, but it is a fighting game...

haha! Well I feel a little better about now. It wasn't the same artist was it?

Fighting games have stories? Laughing

Speaking of story, I got Dragon Age: Origins about a month ago and for weeks I couldn't put it down! The gameplay is ok but the story and interaction with party members in your group is where it really shines! I haven't laugh this hard at diolouge in a game, and it WASN'T unintentionally funny. Not to mention this must be the first game where you can have a three way with an elf, a human, and a dwarf.

Nope. They're by different artists. If BlazBlue's character designer was influenced by DitVB's artist is unknown. Wouldn't surprise me though.

BlazBlue has a far better story mode than most fighters (an oft amusing, visual novel style branching narrative thing). It's still far from your typical RPG epic though.

Never really gave Dragon Age (or any BioWare game much of a look). Just can't find the interest for some reason. That kind of parallels my story with FFXIII though. Got it a month ago and quickly developed a horrible addiction. Could not put it down until I had beaten everything in the game (which took 100 hours or playtime).

Human/elf/dwarf action sounds interesting... I suppose. Not entirely sure...

Honestly Dragon Age is a stand up RPG by itself, but trust me the writing stands out the most. I highly suggest getting it (should be cheaper to get by now.)

Eh, I'll consider it. Not sure it's quite for me though; I definitely seem to land more in the JRPG camp when it comes to both gameplay mechanics and aesthetics.

I will eventually play Dragon Age: Origins. I want to for when I start looking for inspirational sources for my World of Twilight setting.

No kidding, it's like the world has gone upside down thanks to this shit. I even threatened to burn my sister's Twilight books since I have a couple of matches (and I know where my stepfather's lighter is).
